Lake Sakakawea Fishing Report August 21, 2018

Once again the big lake is still kicking all a lot of nice fish. Things are getting a little tight lipped up here on the Sakakawea right now simply because the end of the year Aim state championship is right around the corner. Probing sand looking around the lake doesn’t always equate to a lot of fish, but we are still finding nice fish in all different depths including extremely extremely deep water. It’s going to be super interesting to see what all these teams uncover in the next week or so on the lake. It is amazing to me and no matter what somebody always finds a big batch of fish somewhere, especially on a lake that is 178 miles long by 6 miles wide. A 20 incher average used to be considered good, but my guess is we will need 22 and up to even be in the game. These guide fish we had today came out of 32 foot of water on the steady go to presentation of a slow death hook, half crawler and a bottom bouncer. Another great day on the water catching fish! If your interested in fishing with me or my group mjsguides.com please get ahold of us and book a date. We have some really good time slots available coming up. The bite should actually continue to get bettter as fall closed near. We will also be booking trips on Lake Oahe and the Missouri River here heading into fall. Last but not least if you get a chance to watch my YouTube videos please like, share and subscribe! We are trying to grow that area of the website to help people catch more fish and to also keep people up to speed on the fishing here in ND! Until next time, keep the line tight and the rod tip up!
