JT Custom Rods Review

Here is this week up to date Devils Lake Fishing Report for Walleyes. Devils Lake can live up to its name fishing and also in the terms on how it acts.  We just spent the last day and a half pre fishing and fishing the AIM tournament.. Of course we found really nice fish in practice both casting and trolling.  We decided to start out casting hoping to put 5 on our card fast but of course we had to grind to get 5 on our card.  We were fishing in an area where you are not going to catch numbers.. You are going to catch quality if you stay at it more time then not.  Anyway, Devils lake was a devil to catch quality for us today.  We got our 5 casting and decided to troll areas that have been producing large walleyes. Of course we caught some fish but we were catching white bass and large northern pike.  I sure wish we could have caught a few of those Pike last week in the WWP tournament.  Ha, typical when it comes to fishing a tournament.  I was actually happy with what we had found and our program.  Today they did not bite, yesterday they did and tomorrow they will probably bite again.  It was very interesting to me to see how shallow we did catch walleyes casting.  We like to cast jointed baits and shad style baits and just try and find weed edges and trees with rock seems to be best.  The trolling however has been mainly out in the open basins.  Large walleyes are just roaming looking for fresh perch and white bass to snack on.  Deep is the word with a lot of those fish hanging in 30 to 50 foot of water.. For sure the fish for a tournament and not the frying pan.  Devils was a devil today with both wind and how the fish didn’t want to bite.  For some like always they got them to bite, for guys like myself and my partner they did not.  Its fishing not just catching! Headed back to Sakakawea now and also the river.  I will still have up to date reports on Devils Lake here with reports coming in from Perch Eyes Guide Service.   If your looking to book a trip on Devils Lake, Sakakawea or the Missouri River/ Lake Oahe call me at 701-471-8649 and or email me here off the website.
