Meet Your Fishing Guide

Mike Peluso

ABOUT MIKE PELUSO Mike Peluso is an infamous North Dakota fishing guide that’s well known throughout the state. Mike prides himself on being consistent, as well as versatile on any body of water he fishes. Mike guides year-round, so you can find him on the water or on the ice. Give Mike a call for your next fishing adventure!

I am switching gears for a bit to pre fish for my final Walleye Tournament of the season. I actually didn’t fish very many tournaments this year. So pre fishing compared to guiding has been a nice change of pace, but at the same time I really like my guiding. Anyway, we are poking around the southern stretches of Lake Oahe pre fishing for the Prairie Knights Casino Cup event. On a side note this is also the body of water next springs Aim National Walleye Tournament will be held on this exact body of water. For the guys who have never been here it’s goung to be an eye opener! Moving water, falling or rising water, trees, bridges, river, river channels, sandbars, moving fish are all head scratchers even for this old grandpa guide as Ernie Barnhard life to refer as lol. Anyway, I have been down on this body of water quite a bit over the last month or so and not much has changed. The fish are still scattered about Witt some fish being caught shallow, some deep, some in trees and some in the middle of nowhere. Crank baits are still ruling the show but jigs and rigs are also players. For the guys coming here next spring for practice bring lots of tackle! This system is a lure eating machine. We have been finding done nice fish though! Most of these fish are eating really well with lots of forage being spit up in the livewell and also on the floor of the boat. A huge mix in forage also with white bass, crappies and smelt all being found in these fish. We still have a couple days to try and put together a pattern on a good consistent bite. Unfortunately the weather is a little rough with cold temperatures and rain, but what the heck it’s fishing! I’m still taking bookings for Guide Trips all the way until October 31st! Call or text me at(701) 471-8649 or email me on the site!

Lake Sakakawea Fishibg Report-August 7th, 2022

Being back on Sakakawea has been fun! Honestly for me, I love being able to guide on both of North Dakota's big bodies of water this time of year. It keeps you on your toes and I feel I'm a better guide because of it! No time to get complacent. The fish are moving...

Mid Week Fishing Report- August 3rd, 2022

Back on Sakakawea this week certainly isn't a let down. This lake has been on fire since the very beginning this year and hasn't let up a bit. The fish are moving around some. You can still find some really nice fish up shallow. Just need to be a tad more patient with...

Devils Lake Fishing Report- July 31st, 2022

It's been good! Bug hatches, tons of new food like baby perch and white bass, lots of fresh water shrimp, yet the walleyes on Devils Lake just continue to bite! What's working? Well, it's Devils Lake. Seems like whatever you like to use will work! What's working best?...

Mid Week Devils Lake Fishing Report-July 27th, 2022

So I've been up on Devils Lake now for over a week. Lots of different weather, a couple more bug hatches, and a really strong walleye bite. I get asked to compare or I get asked what lake is better? Totally not a fair question to ask. I just tell folks they are both...

Devils Lake Fishing Report-July 24th, 2022

I reluctantly left Lake Sakakawea earlier this week to travel east to Devils Lake. All the Rage (no pun intended) lol has been on how good the fishing has been on both bodies of water. I'm here to tell you Devils Lake is holding its own. Both bodies of water have been...

Mid Week Lake Sakakawea Fishing Report-July 20th, 2022

If Lake Sakakawea was a movie, I think we could call it Groundhogs Day. Nothing has changed really with the mood of the fish. They are still eating! They are a bit more scattered as far as depth is concerned. Some days it just doesn't matter, but the bulk of the...
