Lake Sakakawea Fishing Report-July 17th, 2022

Not much has changed up here on Lake Sakakawea. The bite at times is absolutely insane for both numbers and quality.

The fish on days have been trending deeper 16′ to 20′ but if wind and water clarity are right fish can still be had up shallow (under 10′) but don’t over look the 25′ to 30′.

Still a bulk of the fish throughout the lake (east to west) the fish are crushing the slow death rigs and propeller rigs with a half crawler. Pretty tough to beat right now.

The water has stabilized some so the temps are staying in the 70’s across the whole lake, making it a wind oriented lake again. Follow the wind you will have success.

I have just a couple openings left in August up here. I am however booking the Fall River trips south of Bismarck starting end of October. If you are coming in to hunt, or just looking to fish this fall, get ahold of me.

Well, the good news is I actually got out in a boat a few times this week. The bad news was it wasn't that nice out. However, this next week's forecast is looking promising. I was hoping the fish had moved into the river better with the layoff. That did not happen...
