Meet Your Fishing Guide

Mike Peluso

ABOUT MIKE PELUSO Mike Peluso is an infamous North Dakota fishing guide that’s well known throughout the state. Mike prides himself on being consistent, as well as versatile on any body of water he fishes. Mike guides year-round, so you can find him on the water or on the ice. Give Mike a call for your next fishing adventure!

So I’ve been up on Devils Lake now for over a week. Lots of different weather, a couple more bug hatches, and a really strong walleye bite.

I get asked to compare or I get asked what lake is better? Totally not a fair question to ask. I just tell folks they are both world class walleye lakes in their own unique ways. For me I love the change of pace and the challenge of staying on top of both bodies of water. I feel it makes be a better angler and guide. Plus, I never get sick of one place.

So what’s working this week? For me it’s been a rotation of spinner colors. I’ll keep changing until you find the color that seems to trigger the fish. I’m running them on old shoreline structure, sunken roads and islands, and along the weed edges in 7 to 12 foot of water still producing lots of bites.

I mentioned on my Facebook pages I’m lacking dates to fish both of these bodies of water yet this season. I have a few but not many. I’ve also begun booking late Fall River trips on the Missouri River and that naughty word Ice Fishing up here on Devils Lake. So if you are thinking of a trip, please get ahold of me!

The fishing has shifted a little bit up here on Sakakawea due to some storms, heavy winds, and some shifting in currents and water temp. Once you relocate the water temps in what I'm calling their comfort zone it's game on! These fish are so healthy in this lake right...

I was told I need to report Real fishing reports this week. I'm still not sure how much more real I could make these? I try very hard to give people an idea and a head start on the particular body of water I'm fishing. I do not get paid to post reports. I merely do...

Lake Sakakawea Fishing Report-July3rd, 2022

My word is the fishing on fire up here on Sakakawea. I'm almost at the cringing point seeing the fish I'm seeing being cleaned on a daily basis. On days, it's truly remarkable. I do wish the Game and Fish would drop the daily limit to 4 walleyes a day but give an...

Lake Sakakawea Fishing Report-June 26th, 2022

Once again the wind seems to be giving us problems up here in North Dakota. It seems like you get at least one in 3 days where the winds are strong enough to keep you off the water. When you can get on the water and things are right the bite is on! One thing I have...
