Wind, windy, windier pretty much is summing up this first portion of the week. We did however finally got back on the water after being held off.
I’ve made my way to Devils Lake. My excitement was running high like always. Unfortunately my excitement to get on the water had to wait an extra day. We were able to get on the water. We were not able to really get to where we want to go. One because of high winds yet. Two because of really dirty water.
The hunker down and wait for some fish to show up approach was what we had to do. It worked and we were able to box a nice batch of eater size 14″ to 19″ inch walleyes on slip bobbers and leeches in 5′ to 10′ of water.
Things look to remain windy up here for a bit. We will see what this will allow us to do as far as fishing goes and also getting to other places on the lake. Water temps where we were today, hovered around 57 to 59 degrees. Hoping to see mid 60’s for the bite to really fire up!
I have a few scattered openings on both Sakakawea and Devils Lake more in July and August. If you are thinking of fishing get ahold of me so we can pencil you in!
