Holy Cow the sun came out and the wind didn’t blow 45 mph all day! Today was the first day in a long time…well I can’t remember the last day where I guided and didn’t have to overcome something Mother Nature wanted to throw at me so I was pretty darn happy! We my client Les and I left Bismarck around 7:00 this morning. We pointed the truck south on 1804 and headed to the Hazelton area. We were one of the first boats on scene, but it didn’t take long before the boats started filing in.  We decided to head upstream and work our way back as the day progressed. Les was kinda a first timer. Retired farmer looking to spend the day on the water and what a day he picked! We had some really good conversations this morning and it was fun for me to pick his brain about crops and farming and he was picking mine about walleyes and walleye fishing in general. Today is why I love guiding so much! A phone call brought us together today and catching walleyes gave us memories for a lifetime. The fish we caught today camenon Lindy 3/8 oz jigs and minnow Fisher vertically while slipping the current seams right along the main river channel. It seems these fish are traveling right now and headed north! Another exciting thing and I have mentioned this in previous posts, but the Missouri River Walleyes are fat and sassy right now. They look great and the fish we cleaned today all had minnows of some sort in them. The water temp today was 48-50 in areas. I also want to thank Reel Fishing Guides and Mike Upgren for hooking me up with Les today! It was an excellent day to be doing what I love! Again, I’m still taking bookings until October 31st. So if you want to get out for some fall jig fishing call or text me at 701-471-8649 or email me at mikepelusooutdoors@ Gmail.com
