Ok, Mother Nature, you and I are going to go toe to toe! Not happy about our long range forecast for the month of October better known by me as Rocktober. The 10 day not so good but the long long range does appear to be better and I sure hope they are right. We went from winter to summer and skipped spring so I’m hoping we can at least get a few weeks of fall in to enjoy a great fall Missouri River bite! Had clients out twice this week locally on the river and all indications point to a good fall run. We are for sure still on the front side of it but the fish are using the main river channel and that tells me the push north up into the river has started! It will continue to get better and more fish begin to show up usually about the end of October into rifle deer season. Presentation is simple with Lindy jigs and rigs tipped with minnows. Both vertical and pitching is working and don’t be afraid to really grind and work your spots. It seems like the fish travel in and out and you get bite windows this time of year. So remain steadfast on your areas especially if you know the fish have been caught there or if you are seeing fish on your electronics. I also feel there is a lot of food around and these fish are not necessarily hungry so it may take a little coaxing to get them to trigger into eating. I’ll be out hopefully plenty more times here in the next month or so. I’ll continue to report back here. Also, I’ll be putting out a huge deal for the upcoming dark house spear fishing I will be offering this winter! Nice warm houses all the equipment needed will be provided for you to try this very unique and interesting experience of fishing. Call or text me at 701-471-8649 or email here on the site!
