I am going to have back to back Fishing reports here one for Sakakawea and also one from the Garrison Dam Tailrace/ Missouri River. I’m probably going to head out on the water locally tonight in the Bismarck-Mandan area also and I’ll report back. Lots going on and I will also try and bring everyone a report on the Tumbleweed Fishing Tournament that is taking place as I type after it’s all said and done. Well, last night we went to one of my favorite places to fish and that is the chutes up in the tailrace. You never know what your going to catch abs last night was no exception! We boated tons of catfish and they were big! We had a drum, sucker, trout, salmon and walleyes all hooked up last night. We kept our presentation simple running 3 way rigs with floaters as trailers. Number 11 and 13 rapalas always seem the best to me or seem to work the best for me. I was a little nervous heading up because I wa told hey had the dam shut off for a bit a couple nights ago due to a power outage but all was good and the the fish were on the feed! Judging by the amount of boats and shore anglers I’d say it isn’t a secret that the fish are biting! It turned into a great night as far as weather was concerned and it wa comfortable. My only problem was I lost power and had no lights for he boat so we didn’t get to stay for the reallly good stuff. All in and all I can’t complain we caught plenty of fish and if you want to see some fat walleyes and catfish check these fish out for yourself! Crazy!
