Fishing/Health Update-August 17th, 2025

For me personally this week, I obviously haven’t been able to get on the water yet.  I am however cleared for now to return to normal everyday activities until October 6th.

October 6th I have to go back to the doctors office to plan things for my future. Of course they are taking things slow because I need to heal up some yet, and they need to determine if I have any other issues like the C word before anything can be done.  Overall at the moment I’m feeling a lot better.

I know I sound like a broken record, but I can’t thank everyone enough for all the support I have received.  Not being able to guide is a major  strain on things.  I’m going to try and guide in small increments here starting next week to see how I feel.  Laying around for 3 weeks I’m not exactly in prime shape.

I’m extremely excited to see how it goes.  This is definitely a life altering experience and hopefully over time it’s all for the better.

Talking to fellow guides and friends who have been fishing it sounds like it’s still pretty good.  Both on Sakakawea and Devils Lake.   I will definitely test the waters next week and I’ll be excited to give you a good fishing report again.

Thanks again everyone who has reached out in some way shape or form!  Your support has meant the world to me and my family.

Devils Lake Fishing Report- August 16th, 2026

Most of this week was spent up on Devils Lake guiding. I know Devils has gotten a bad rap as of late.  I do think it a tad unfair to catagorize it  this way.  I touched on it a bit in last weeks report, but I'll touch on it again.  The fish you...

ND Fishing Report-August 9th, 2026

It's been a tale of two lakes this week for me.  My first half started up on Sakakawea where things just continue to buzz with great fishing.  My second half was spent on Devils Lake.   It's definitely not fair to compare the two lakes at this...
