Ice Fishing Report-December 14th, 2025

We are definitely getting the right ice making conditions!  Reports across the region is 6 to 10 inches on most smaller bodies of water.

I have yet to wet a line personally, but this next week I have plans to get out some.  I have been talking to plenty of folks that have.

Overall from what I’m hearing things are fairly quiet yet, especially up on Devils Lake.  They are catching a few perch here and there but the walleyes have been a tad elusive.

The same scenario played out up there last winter.  The walleyes were a bit hard to find and out of nowhere they showed themselves.  I would anticipate the same thing this winter.

A few of the smaller lakes around the Jamestown region are kicking out some fish.  I haven’t decided quite yet where I’m gonna venture out yet this week but I’ll let you know what I find.

We still don’t have the right ice conditions up on Sakakawea to get spear shacks ready, but it’s closing in hopefully.  As soon as I do that I’ll open them up for rent for day spearing.

I’ve also already started booking trips for the spring river fishing here near Bismarck.  Dates are open starting April 1st so get ahold of me to reserve a chance at a PB this spring.  All indicators this fall, it should be an epic spring!
