Mid Week Lake Sakakawea Fishing Report-July 6th, 2022

Not much has changed other than the water is warming up and it’s a bit more consistent throughout the system. Creating decent to unreal Fishing east, west, north, and south.

The walleyes are moving up and down as far as depth is concerned depending on the day. If you concentrate your efforts in the 10 to 20 foot range right now you’ll do just fine. Some days they are up shallower and some days you can get them out deeper. I would anticipate these fish to begin moving deeper here in the coming weeks.

What’s working? Everything! Pick your poison and apply it to the area you are fishing. Crawlers on just about anything are hard to beat right now. Leave the minnow buckets in the trucks. I would however have a dozen or two of leeches along. This will also trigger a big bite from time to time.

The lake will go through a transition at some point here. Stay tuned and I’ll try and do my best to speed up the finding and catching process.
