Sorry this report is getting to everyone a little later than usual today. I was away coaching a little hockey and got back a little late.
Anyway, for me personally I haven’t been out much here this past week. Still working through my health issues and have been doing some hockey stuff with both Mandan and Team ND.
I do however have a few reports to bring to you from my guide friends on both Sakakawea and Devils Lake. I will be getting on the water a couple times this week with the Aim Championship up on Sakakawea that Jason Feldner and I are fishing. I’m hopeful I will be able to hold up.
First thing first is Lake Sakakawea is still holding its own weather permitting. We had a few big wind days this week that stirred things up a bit. Fish are being found fairly deep overall but there are some nice fish being caught up shallow also.
Jigs and minnows are catching them along with crawlers yet. Crank baits are also in play. With a bit of warming trend for this week I would anticipate a pretty decent bite up on the big lake. Will report back on what I learn this week.
Devils Lake has actually turned on as of late. The fish are getting a little more willing and the quality has been there. This is a great time of year up there to capitalize on the shore angling. Had a couple buddies do extremely well fishing off shore.
Again, I apologize for not have a little more detail since I wasn’t able to actually get on the water. I am looking forward to getting back out there this week. I just hope I can hold up to my once taken for granted grind. Fingers crossed I guess.
Thanks again to everyone who continues to support me in my healing journey. The thoughts and prayers are definitely appreciated and felt!
