Missouri River Fishing Report- March 15th, 2026

Holy crap the river is open!  Not the entire river, but basically Bismarck north is wide open.

As you may expect I was one of the early birds to get out on the water.  Definitely feels good to know spring open water fishing is officially here.

One of the issues we are going to have here locally is river access to load and unload our boats.  With them taking away one of our most popular public ramps it’s going to leave a huge void.

Sad to think the city of Bismarck, with the population we have, will now only have Fox Island boat ramp as our closest option to fish near town.  Definitely going to force people to figure out other options.

Ice has been pushed off Fox Island so as soon as the weather warms back up you will be able to get a boat in there.  The ramps to the north like Misty Waters and Hoge Island most likely won’t be very accessible.  Still iced in as of now and they look to be super shallow since the ice is still there.

I’ll keep you updated if they get pushed off and if there is enough water to load and unload a boat.  Until then your only option will be Fox Island.

There are some fish around already! We caught some walleyes which were extremely fat and healthy looking fish.  We also caught a monster Pike as you saw on the picture.

I’ll be on the water everyday now starting Wednesday and basically won’t have a break until the end of August.  So the reports will be coming and they will as up to date as they can be!

I don’t have any days left to book in April on the river.  O do have a May date or two left.  I have a few openings days for Devils Lake late May and early June.  As far as Sakakawea I only have August dates left.  So if you are looking for a trip get ahold of so we can see if we can get you in!

It's been a tale of two lakes this week for me.  My first half started up on Sakakawea where things just continue to buzz with great fishing.  My second half was spent on Devils Lake.   It's definitely not fair to compare the two lakes at this...

Not much has changed up here on Lake Sakakawea. If you are looking for unreal fishing, this is the place to be right now!  Fish are remaining fairly shallow for this time of year.  Most of the fish are staying in that 14 to 20 fow range.  Remember...

ND Fishing Report-July 26th, 2026

So I split my time this week chasing walleyes on the big lake of Sakakawea and chasing bass and musky over on Audubon.  We had a great week catching both the walleyes and bass.  If I was a diehard musky fisherman I guess seeing the one we did is a victory...
