Ice Fishing Report-January 21st, 2024

It’s been a battle this past week. I think all those nice December days finally caught up to us. Old man winter needed to remind us of that.

Not only did old man winter get our attention, but it also made the fish mad. Especially the perch this past week.

Now don’t get me wrong, we are still scratching a few perch here and there. Overall though the perch bite just isn’t setting up like we hoped yet. On the other hand the walleyes at least are at times to keep our spirits up.

For my groups be actually really downsized all my tackle on my Walleye Slayer rods. The smaller buckshots, Lindy Flyers and tikka minnows with tiny minnow heads and wax worms have done best.

I’m hoping with the better weather on the horizon here for the perch bite to pick up a little. Only time will tell!
