Ice Fishing Report-March 3rd, 2024

Crazy to think but I have only two weeks left up here on Devils Lake for the winter. Time flies when you stay busy.

The winter season has been an absolute roller coaster. We have had some great days and we have had sone tough days. Lots of philosophical reasons I suppose, but for us as guides it is what it is.

On a bright side though, it’s been a winter of quality over quantity. With the perch never really bunching up this winter I think the future is bright. Mother Natures way of protecting the resource.

The Minnewauken Fishing Tournament was another success! 513 registered angler took part in it this winter. Lots of big walleyes were brought in. Cool to see! Especially when I see the pictures of the kids holding the fish.

The Ice Fishing Central rods were a hit! Lots of good feedback on them this winter. We are super excited with how winter number one has gone and we will have more products and rods coming out. Head to www.icefishingcentral.net to check them out!

I’ll have one more winter report before heading back to Bismarck to begin the open water guide session on the Missouri River near Bismarck. I will have early dates available if anyone is interested so get ahold of me!

Not much has changed since last week as far as the river near Bismarck is concerned.  I was hoping it would have made a little more progress.   It's definitely a weird ice season out there.  Normally the river freezes in big chunks.  This winter...
