Unfortunately with the latest weather we just received up here in North Dakota, fishing has taken a back seat for a few days. I’m hoping things warm up enough here to get the most back in the river.
Before the snow this week fishing was pretty solid. We weren’t catching giants like they are seeing on southern Oahe. We are however seeing and catching the perfect eater fish, with a few larger ones mixed in.
I was starting to notice a more normal fall bite happening. Vertical jigging with minnows while slipping the current was working most days. The telltale thump jig bite is an addicting way to catch fish.
Again, I’m hoping to get back out on the river yet before ice fishing season. Speaking of Ice Fishing. Keep your eyes open for a new and exciting thing going on. It will be called Ice Fishing Central. I won’t say too much about it yet, but there will be sone cool and exciting things coming. I’ll make sure to let people know about it as we go. Stay tuned!
