I figured I would wait to put this weeks fishing report out until after the holiday. Hopefully everyone thanked a veteran for their service and everyone was out enjoying time on the water and with family.

This is a North Dakota fishing report in general from the Big 3 here in the state. So for the most part this is a general report from what I’m hearing and experiencing.

The river system all the way down to the state line is still producing lots of water size fish with a big fish still mixed in from time to time. Sounds like however you like to fish them will work just fine.

Sakakawea has fish being caught all over the lake. The mid to eastern section actually has a bite occurring which is great! The western portion is definitely a tad better but overall the fishing is good with nice average size overall and a few really big fish also. Shallow jigs tipped with minnows and and plastics producing.

Devils Lake has also been good at times if conditions are right. Still lots of gin clear water making it difficult at times to get the fish to eat. Slip bobbers on structure have been best with sone fish being caught casting cranks and also pitching jigs with paddle tails. It should just keep getting better as the water dirties up and it also warms up a bit.

I don’t have much for openings in June and July. I do however have sone dates available in August if you are looking for a guided trip on either Devils Lake or Sakakawea.
